ANTI RAGGING CELL

Anti-ragging Cell functions in this institution to prohibit prevent & eliminate the scourge of ragging including any conduct by any student(s). On any reported incident of ragging, the Head of institution will file a First Information Report (FIR) within 24 hours of receipt of such information and report the occurrence of the incident of ragging to the District Level Anti-Ragging Committee & the Nodal Officer of M.G. University. The institution will also continue with its own enquiry and strict disciplinary action will be taken.

SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work) SUPW 2014-15

The main aim of the education is to make student “Versatile” or “multitalented”. To develop patriotic feeling and doing something for society that is the expectation of social work. Not only the textual syllabus is sufficient for this programme but also find out “potential” of the students. For this purpose other programmes are necessary.

Objectives:

  • To form a socially useful generation.
  • To inspire the students to take the responsibility.
  • To motivate the students  to show their quality and aesthetic quality.
  • To draw out  the student potential.
  • To increase the confidence of students and sense of security.
  • To aware  the importance of group work and co-operation.
  • To help them to be self- realised .

Frame work:

Developing the importance of social work/service College arrange the camp. In this camp student participate in the various programmes. They have to perform and be active in these programmes, to develop themselves. College has been arranged following programmes/activities:

  • Book Binding
  • Soap making
  • The programme of cleanliness campaign
  • AIDS awareness campaign
  • Programme of tree plantation
  • Programme to visit orphanage
  • Programme to visit hospital


Tobacco Control Cell

Tobacco and tobacco products are a curse to the society and the world has recognized it for long. Countries all over the world have been initiating various measures to curb this menace. India has also been in the forefront to fight this social evil. The Government of Kerala under section 6 of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of advertisement and Regulation of trade and commerce, production, supply and distribution) Act, 2003 (COTPA) has prohibited the sale of tobacco products to and by minors and in an area within a radius of 400 yards of an educational institution. In order to implement COTPA and the rules made there under a Tobacco Control Cell was formed in the college under the guidance of a Nodal teacher.

The main Objectives of the cell are

  • To ensure that no Tobacco products of whatever nature are sold within 400 yards measured radially starting from the outer limit of the boundary wall or fence of the college
  • To set the law in motion against the violators of the provisions of COTPA and its allied rules.

The action of the above shall be taken within fifteen days from the date of receipt of the information regarding the violation.


Grievance Redress Cell

It is natural that grievances occur in social behaviour. To suppress them makes one unhealthy and weaker. Grievance Redressal Cell is functioning in the college to settle such grievances.
